Our Story
How We Met
Eric and Jessica met on her first day of college in 2014 at Arizona State University where Eric sat down next to her and confidently said "Hi, I'm Eric!" with a firm handshake. After being friends for a year and a half they decided that they would give a relationship a shot in 2015 and ended up bonding over a game called ARK: Survival Evolved. Their college years were filled with a lot of Chipotle dates (every Friday night!), ASU football games, a thousand hours of ARK, many late night Dungeons and Dragons sessions, and a whole lot of fun at school events with their friends.
The Proposal
The first place Eric and Jessica went hiking together was West Fork Trail at Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona, Arizona. Over the years they frequently visited this hike with their family and friends as it became one of their favorite places to go to. The week of the proposal Eric asked Jessica multiple times to come hiking on the weekend with their friend, Alex, but Jessica didn't want to wake up early on a weekend. Eventually she agreed to come (as long as they didn't leave too early) and Alex, Eric, and Jessica set out on the two hour ride to Sedona while Eric nervously held a ring box in his pocket the entire drive.
After carrying the ring miles into the canyon Eric popped the question in the same place that they took a photo almost seven years ago, on a ridge overlooking the stream beneath it. Alex captured their engagement with a stunning video that you can watch below!
Favorite Memories
Over the years Eric and Jessica have spent a lot of time bonding over games, some of their favorites have been Minecraft, Catan, Valorant, 7 Days to Die, Don't Starve Together, Resident Evil, and For The King. They developed a passion for rock climbing together and have also enjoyed hiking many trails with their family and friends. From visiting Europe to remodeling their home they have enjoyed making memories over the past 8 years and are looking forward to many more.
